Hello! And welcome to my portfolio. My name is Peter Aurelio Cagno. I am a senior at James Madison University in pursuit of a degree in Writing, Rhetoric & Technical Communication with a minor in Sport Communication.

My time at JMU has been filled with incredible experiences, both in and out of the classroom. In my academic curriculum, I’ve developed valuable skills in writing and rhetoric, as well as honed professional techniques utilized by experts in the sport communication field. Outside of the classroom, I helped lead the JMU Men's Lacrosse team as the Vice President. The plethora of academic knowledge I've acquired in the classroom, coupled with the leadership role I've assumed on the field have molded me into the prospective employee and man I am today.

But the most enriching experience I've had was through my work with the JMU student-newspaper, The Breeze. As the Sports Editor, my duties ranged from assigning stories, to page design and everything in between. Working as an editor of a nationally acclaimed, award-winning newspaper taught me the importance of effective communication and collaboration within a team, workplace integrity, and the significance of disseminating accurate information. In a world saturated by misinformation, the search for truth and justice is more difficult than ever, and the roles of journalists and effective communicators have become indispensable.
